Be Brave

After my whopping four hour shift at work, I had a really lazy day, but since I am on my summer break, I do not feel guilty about it. Later I went to see "Brave" with James. It was life changing. I learned a lot about myself, life, and fate. For instance, to change your fate, you must turn you mother into a bear. And also, I am a lesbian. Thanks, Pixar!

Gotta get BACK IN TIME!

Went back in time to see "Back to the Future" then we came back to the future.
Just another day in Joisey.

Just another Saturday

In case you wondered, as I did, if Fuddrucker's sold turkey burgers, they do. And they are delish.

If you ever got the sudden worry that Fandango could lie to you, as I wondered, about where a movie is playing and when, they do. They are liars.

If you ever wondered if, as I did, The Other Guys was any good, it was. But I did think it would be better than it was. I was mildly disappointed, but I do not live in regret! After all, I learned a lot about tuna and sharks.

It's time

Had dinner (liquid diet) with a smuck [sic] then saw Dinner with Schmucks. It would have been a great day if my car wasn't the biggest schmuck of them all.

oh my F.A.O Schwartz

Found out that I have two diseases today. One is real and one is theoretical. One is physically painful and one is emotional. Both I've known about for years, but today I feel like I can put a name to them both. That's as much as I'd like to say about that. After all of that, I had the great pleasure of seeing Toy Story 3. What can I say about it? It was great. It was really well done. I wouldn't say it was my favorite one, but I did enjoy it. And some of the scenes were so aesthetically pleasing. I can't imagine how they create and animate a whole landfill. Sounds weird to say, but it was rather breath taking. And not because it smelled. Good job, Pixar! You have done it again!

bum bibi bum, bum bum buummm

I think it's pretty clear what I did today. And as a result, there's a huge rift in the family! Despite that, it wasn't too bad for an action film (I tend to get rather bored in action movies, ironically). I wasn't too optimistic from the previews, but it turned out to be pretty good. It was entertaining, the storyline wasn't too unbearable, the portrayal of the classic characters was decent, and Bradley Cooper was shirtless. Not bad.
The A-Team was a popular show around my house when I was young. And once upon a cellphone, I had the A-Team theme song as a ring tone. I'll never forget it because when I had the opportunity to meet Joel Madden, from - the biggest band in the universe- Good Charlotte, a few years ago, my mother called me right as he came over to me. And there in the quiet of an awesome handicapped, er party bus the A-Team theme began to play loud and proud. It was funny. But you'll have to take my word for it. Just one of those moments that you kind of had to be there for.

Somebody's poisoned the watering hole

Got started on my final project for my Sculpting for Animation class. Keep in mind I said I "started" it. This isn't even as far as I got in this sitting, but I thought the sloppy, unfinished version was kind of cute. It looks nothing like this now. It's good to see where you started, though. It'll make for a striking comparison shot later.

Speaking of later, I went and saw "Iron Man 2" later. And it didn't even suck. Nice going, Jon Favreau! You made a decent second film. That's not an easy task. Just ask Indiana Jones or Back to the Future. Need I say more?

Sometimes you just have to get away

After way too long, my good friend, John, came up from Maryland to visit for a day. Despite having to get up earlier than I wanted, my day was pretty sweet. My wonderful mother made omelets for us before we went to see MacGruber in Mays Landing. It was awesome. So ridiculously hilarious. I'm mad that a week after it got into the theater there was only three showings of it. So stupid. Not even giving the film a chance. Stupid blockbusters! Anyway, afterward we took John down to Atlantic City so he could experience it for the first time ever! It was a lot busier than I'm used to. Normally I'm there late at night and not during a holiday weekend. It's not as cool looking in the light, but we had a nice time walking around nonetheless. Lots of good people watching always goes down in AC. We even took a little walk on the beach. My first beach visit of the season! After we had our fill of gambling, smoke, and losing money, we ate and went back to my house and lounged on the back with a nice fire. THEN everybody left and I was left to worry about all the work I have to do this weekend. YAWN.

I saw a movie.

Worked, worked, worked and then I went to a movie. In the movie, the two main characters went on a date and it was as good as farting in a shoebox. Realizing their marriage was in shambles, they went to Manhattan and did the unthinkable; stole someone's reservation. Then two guys tried to kill them for it. They escaped. Puked. And then stole a shirtless man's Audi. Then they drove around the city a lot and stripped for Jimmy MacElroy's dad. After this, they realized their marriage was pretty cool and made out.

I hope I didn't spoil anything for anyone.

Dirty frog kissing

Went to see The Princess and the Frog and I'm happy to report it didn't suck! It's been a long time since I saw a 2-d animated Disney film so I was a little nervous! But it was good. I really liked it. And I'm glad they'll have a film to promote in their New Orleans section in Disneyworld now. Promoting Pirates of the Caribbean and Nightmare Before Christmas didn't really make sense, but this movie will. WHEW! Good thing!! Gosh, if I was a sarcastic person... Moreover, I discovered a fun factoid. The voice of Ray the Firefly, Jim Cummings, was also the voice of Darkwing Duck. Childhood favorite!

The Romantic

I was the lucky recipient of a personal invitation to the Philadelphia pre-screening of the sensational new animated film, "The Romantic". It was pretty exclusive, but I had an "in" with one of the crew members. Not just any crew member. Yeah, believe it or not, I had an "in" with THE composer of the entire soundtrack, Nathan Terry. Despite the fact that the cold I developed on Monday (which I thought was gone by Thursday) decided to come back on Friday like some kind of campground killer and slaughter my voice, Jamie and I went up to Philly to take part in this once in a lifetime opportunity. Somehow we braved the rain and wind and arrived at the Circle of Hope theatre with time to spare. The movie was really awesome. The animation was twisted and the storyline was even more so. But I definitely enjoyed what I saw. I might not have comprehended it all accurately, but it entertained me and held my interest throughout. Moreover, the music was phenomenal. I don't think I'm bias in saying that either. Somehow Nathan continues to impress me more and more. I didn't think it was possible! He's an amazing musician/composer/person and I definitely feel honored to know him and to even have had the chance to work and collaborate with him. So, what I'm really trying to say is...

I fucking hate the fucking jerk.

You are a killer

Went to see The Hangover. I kept hearing it was funny and reading it was the hit of the summer and when most people are happy to hear good reviews like this, I get a little nervous. I hate hype. It's usually wrong. It usually lets me down. But in this case, I felt the hype was deserved. Zach Galifinakis' best role. Though, I Ed Helms and Bradley Cooper were not slackin. So, if you like crazy, sometimes slapstick comedies, go and see this movie. And, hey, Heather Graham is in it. Remember her?
