Five years ago today my mother and I got up bright and early and drove to the Philadelphia International Airport to meet with a woman that was bringing a special delivery to us in a little black bag from North Carolina. Drugs? No. Exotic fruits? No. A tiny little black monster? You bet your sweet ass! I became the very proud owner of a very special little monster that I named Gizmo Wilkerstintious in honor of my dear, beloved friend, Chilly Willy. Since then Gizmo and I have been like white on rice. Recently my mother described Gizmo as the safety blanket to my Linus from Peanuts. I think that's pretty cute, though I'm surely not as articulate.Happy Valentine's Day to all you lovers out there!
