you got it, you're wow wow wow wow

This is fuckin' weird.

I think I prefer this. I guess I'm just a new age kind of girl.

And now I return to my extensive work on cardiovascular disease.

do you find me sadistic?

There's a little something that I have to speak about here in my blog. It's not really little, but I have to speak about it. It's important to me to speak about. I would have made an update about it yesterday, but I was too bummed about it and I had a show in Pitman to prepare for and perform at. Be that as it may, you probably read that Paul Newman passed away on Friday. As with all terrible news, my brother, Andrew, informed me of this. He didn't intend to this time, though. When I sign on AIM I frequently first browse my friends away messages and it just so happens that his said, "RIP Cool Hand Luke" and I swear the world stopped turning for a second. Granted, he was 83 years old and that's a nice long life to have led by all means, but it's just sad. I adore Paul Newman. Even his cookies. Every time my mother goes to the store, I request Ginger-o's which is a cookie made by the Paul Newman company. For weeks she was unable to find them and while we were in Target just the other week, I turned the corner and there they were! And I was skipping and so happy! Now I think there will be a bittersweet taste in every bite. :(

So, now I'm going to fill up my blog with all the beauty that is Paul Newman. Well, all the beauty that I could find and could be encompassed in photographs. But if you haven't seen any Paul Newman movies, you need to do so. Recommendations: Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Sting, Cool Hand Luke, The Long, Hot Summer, The Hudsucker Proxy, Empire Falls, Nobody's Fool.. Alright, I just named all the ones I've seen. Loved them all, though!

I think my brother put it best...
RIP Cool Hand Luke

Borders is the new Star Search

So, check out who else used to play at Borders! Ha! Though, she's terribly more talented than me by a mile or more. I'm constantly blown away by her amazing vocals. I'm so jealous. And I went to open mic tonight and didn't feel at all like playing music, but after watching this I'm a little bit more excited for Saturday (as I'm playing a show). Nicole always makes me wanna sing! :)

the question is, do you love him?

Lisa, this is for you :)

And this song is for anyone that can bare it. It's awful. And I have to hear it a lot. Well, not as much as I used to as hours at Aero were cut. But when it came on today at Aero I happened to be in the stock room and I was finally able to see who the geniuses were that made this disaster! So take a listen... if you dare!!

Do you want the real thing or are you just talk?

Free buffet? No strings attached? No cover charge? No nothing? You've got to be kidding me. That can't be right. That's not possible! Not at such a swanky joint! There's Greek statues! Classy 1980 Beverly Hill home decor! They couldn't possibly have free buffet Monday thru Friday!

...and yet, they DO.

No, I'm not going to sleep with you anymore

So, I got my hair did! I don't know how I feel about it. I tried to take my color back to it's natural hue. I cut some length off and thinned it out a bit. What do you think? I'm a little uneasy about it. Maybe if I dye my eyebrows to match I'll feel better? Maybe I won't feel like this witch hat is attached to my head...

SIKE! LOLZ! U GOT PUNK'D!

Joel Madden; a man of substance, not just good looks

If the video I posted exposing some scary truths about John McCain wasn't clear enough, I am an Obama supporter. But I'm also a Joel Madden supporter. I have to be clear in saying that as I am NOT a Benji Madden supporter. It's very complicated. That's for another post. In another life. Anyway, if anyone other than my friends read this blog then I hope that if you haven't registered to vote that you will register to vote. I know that it's scary. It could potentially get you jury duty someday. BUT it's your civic and patriotic duty as an American to register and vote and be a living, breathing, participant of this society! I mean, fuck, America ain't nothin if we ain't gots Americans. Right?

whatever whenever

Went to NYC on Tuesday to see Conan O'Brien, Kiera Knightly, Dwight Schrute, Tyler Perry, Bill Burr, Nicole Richie, and Agent Michael Scarne. Some we planned to see, but a few were total surprises! As you may or may not know, it's Fashion Week up in the Big Apple and you could definitely tell. There was so many tall, gorgeous, and fashionable women and just a lot of really well dressed people all over the place. It was awesome. I love clothes and shoes so I was like, "Oooo... Ahhhh..." everywhere we went. It made people watching even better! It also made me want to live in NYC again. But in Soho. So, that's a definite no go. Stupid money. Anyway, in Soho, we went to eat at this very lovely place called "Bread". As you might expect from the title, they had really good bread. I ate a lot of it. And learned what "melschun" is. It's actually delicious. Be that as it may, I was definitely not getting fruity pebbles in my pinkberry. Anymore grain in my stomach and I would have exploded. But I did have mango! yum!

In other news, everyone at Aero is having their hours cut. Since school got back in, the sales have dropped off and there's just no hours. It won't be like this forever, but I'm a little bummed about the drop in money that's coming my way in the new few weeks. I've been cutting back on spending the past few months, but I suppose I should cut back even more. This trip to NYC did not help with the cut back either. Ah well.

Here's my next installment of Songs I Hate at Aero:
Fan - New Young Pony Club

Jamie, you like this band! They do that "Jerk Me" song! Are you making Aero mix CDs for the company?! If you are, stop putting dumb songs on there! They suck if you only have to hear them one time but it's torture to hear them over and over and over... ;)

major, the three of us won't fit in there

Last night was the first floor set at Aero since our store manager up and left us high and dry. I don't know if I've mentioned that in my blog as of yet, but Janine ditched our retail asses. No two weeks notice. Not much notice at all. She just bounced. In hindsight, there was some warning signs that this would happen, but no serious red flags. Be that as it may, things have been a little hectic and dramatic at work, but I've been able to slide through without too much trouble. I've been a quizzical spectator to the drama of young girls. But our new store manager started and he seems to be alright thus far. It's a little early for me to form an opinion of him, but he seemed to have a nice personality and good work ethic and the floor set went more smoothly than usual. I can't hate on that. We got done around 3:30am rather than 6:30am. I don't know if I should credit our new store manager with a better night, but considering I didn't get smoke blown at me on our break makes me like him already.

In my last post I put a song that plays in Aero that I hate. I'm going to continue the tradition here with the song I think I hate most. Though, I'm not sure exactly. I hate a lot of them. This one ranks pretty high though:

Friends Dont Let Friends Dial Drunk - Plain White Ts

I bet this song makes Benji Madden cry

As much as I don't want to know who these fellers are, they are the Jonas Brothers. The "Jo Bros" if you will. Up until today I thought I had never heard any of their music. Apparently I have known and hated one of their songs since May. Thanks to a customer at Aero, I am now aware of who to direct my hate at.

Australia - Jonas Brothers
I have to hear this shit like everyday! BLEH.

On top of that, Aero tried to break my toe today. Thanks to the milk I have enjoyed with my cereal on a somewhat regular basis, my bone is fully intact! But I'm still mad at Aero for trying to do that to me anyway. I don't make enough money nor any hazard pay so they better be nicer to me and all of my toes!

it's not weird to be friends with a boy when you're 11

Some pretty cool things have come along the past few days...as you can see above. The much anticipated, writer's strike effected fourth season of the Office came out Tuesday and I've clearly been devouring it since. Considering how long I've been watching the first, second, and third seasons, I think these DVDs will be in pretty constant rotation. I'm trying to take it slow, though. I haven't even gotten to the third disc. Though I watched the first disc twice. I can see a problem forming already.

Speaking of which...

I have been holding onto this poster/flyer since 2004. Only took me four years to buy a frame and put it up. Can you believe all the different times I've moved and I've been able to keep it in such nice condition? I can't. And I'm told I don't truly love Army of Me. PSH.

Speaking of which...

JeNell & the Yets had the honor of gracing the same stage that Army of Me once rocked. Not on the same night unfortunately. Despite Army of Me not being there and it being Nathan's last show, it was a good one. I'm always quiet and nervous before our set, but actually, I was more at ease and excited during the day than I normally am. There was something freeing about knowing that I was going to get a break from it for a little bit. I'm looking forward to the time when I'm excited to play rather than excited to take a break. When that day comes you betta WATCH OUT!
