Listen here, Mack

Another visit down the Wildwood way, but this time with a different kind of mission. Instead of pool time, it was pizza time. Jamie and I hit up Mack's Pizza for some delish boardwalk style pizza. Then we wandered up the pier very aimlessly. Oddly enough, while waiting in the line for funnel cake, I saw two people I knew from school. So random. Of all the places in the world to see someone I know from Ai, I definitely wouldn't have expected to see them there. Crazy. And I learned that the two of them are dating. Didn't not expect that either. Never know what kind of craziness you might see on the Wildwood pier. This was probably not as crazy as usual actually.

it's a really wonderful room

There's just no sense buying this pooch a bed. He'd rather sleep on my clothing and bags.
Luckily for him I find it adorable and endearing!

Who else could go for some flapjacks right now?

Due to my mother having a random Monday off of work, she and I took advantage of the lovely weather and the lovely timing and we went down to my aunt's pool in North Wildwood for a day of fun in the sun. And due to my cousin and his wife being on an Eagles cruise, my aunt was watching their 3 year old son, Hunter. Despite being only 3 years old, that boy is clearly a heterosexual male. Whenever I would walk by him, he would just stare. Apparently he stares at girls that are in my age bracket. He is not subtle about it. Luckily for him, he's only 3 years old and it's more funny than anything else. If he's still doing that when he's 20, he's going to get slapped a lot. Though, he wouldn't be the first guy I've known that has openly and shamelessly ogled me. Fellas, if you're going to ogle a chick, be discrete! Get some stealth skills! And if you get caught, STOP LOOKING! That's my word to the wise. Unless you're at a strip club. Totally different rules apply there.

Only took me about 3 months to complete this...

When in Rome! from jenell o'boogie on Vimeo.

So, in March Jamie and I went to Disney World during my week off from school. It's taken me until now to put this video together. That's how busy I am when I am in school. So, I hope it's somewhat enjoyable and worth the wait... but I won't hold my breath.

oh my F.A.O Schwartz

Found out that I have two diseases today. One is real and one is theoretical. One is physically painful and one is emotional. Both I've known about for years, but today I feel like I can put a name to them both. That's as much as I'd like to say about that. After all of that, I had the great pleasure of seeing Toy Story 3. What can I say about it? It was great. It was really well done. I wouldn't say it was my favorite one, but I did enjoy it. And some of the scenes were so aesthetically pleasing. I can't imagine how they create and animate a whole landfill. Sounds weird to say, but it was rather breath taking. And not because it smelled. Good job, Pixar! You have done it again!

Can you cork it?

On one of the hottest days of the year, Jamie and I escaped to beat the heat at the beach. Honestly, it wasn't much cooler down by the shore. But there was nice, cool water and a breeze to help us endure the elements. It was my first official beach trip and it was a success. Very relaxing. Full of people watching. We weren't there too, too long, but it was probably for the best. If we had stayed longer I probably would have actually gotten a burn or something! Imagine!

In related news, what the hell was that thing floating in the water? Considering what's going on in the Gulf, I couldn't help but be a little concerned...

Just another night in the Hood

Went out with Jamie in attempts to sway her desire to go postal on her workplace and found ourselves in the midst of karaoke night in Applebee's. I don't know if this is something that a lot of Applebee's do, so try to contain your immense jealousy if your local Applebee's does not. Hopefully Jamie felt a little less disgruntled after hearing my smashing version of "Sunday Morning" by No Doubt. If not me, than one of the many other high school graduates there to sing their diplomas out. It was quite a night in the neighborhooood!

Is he lisping?

Despite the record breaking heat, Jamie and I ventured up to my second city for the Bamboozle Roadshow. Unfortunately, we missed just about every band that played the second stage. It was hot over there and we found a nice shaded, breezy spot near the water that just so happen to be near the Good Charlotte meet & greet area so we could spy a little. Well, we could have, but we just looked over in that direction and then said, "oh, look" and then went back to our business. But, oh boy, believe me, I was FREAKING OUT inside. After awhile, we ventured back into the crowd and experienced all things Bambozzle. I think what's the most bamboozling thing is the attire of the crowd. Granted, it was hot out. That being said, this show was a pedophiles dream come true. So many under age girls in teeny tiny outfits. So many brace-faced prepubescent girls in Daisy Dukes and rolled up tank tops. When I was their age, I never wore shorts. Too bad more girls aren't self-conscious about their knees and too modest to wear tank tops.

So, if you hadn't heard (or seen), we went to see Good Charlotte. Kind of a bust to go see a band you like at one of these things, though. They had a 30 minute set and played all their hits. I mean, it was a fun set nonetheless, but it's not really all that thrilling for a person that's been to a lot of their headlining shows. But, like I said, it was fun despite all that. It went by REAL fast! I did get some sweet photos thanks to the early hour of the set. Normally when we see them, it's dark. My digital zoom likes it when it's sunny. So do I :)

In other news, I have now seen Third Eye Blind play live as well. It was bizarre. Stephen Jenkins is an odd chap. You should see them. Their drummer is made of lions. No shit. True story. LIONS. Also, they played the longest version of "Jumper" I've ever heard. It was the only song I wanted to hear so I guess they really went all out. They didn't have to do that, though. I liked it the regular length that it was.

Towards the end of our night, we ran into a dapper gentleman. No idea who it was, but he was really hot ;)

School's out for..... 3 weeks

Today was another pointless waste of gas, money, and time. And to add insult to injury, I was awoken two hours before I needed to be by jack hammering right outside my window. Then my blood pressure really rose when I discovered I couldn't get out of my driveway due to the huge tractor parked behind my car.

Be that as it may, I got out and made my way all the way up to school just to hand a CD in and leave. It was very exciting.

Then I came home and went to sleep. I kind of felt a little lost. I didn't quite know what to do with myself without having a million projects and deadlines to topple. A few hours of freedom and I was really at a loss. So, I played with clay for hours. I just don't know how to do nothing.

Dinks, the baby elephant

Last day of my Thursday classes; Conceptual Storytelling and Sculpting for Animation. I was up rather late finishing things up for my Conceptual Storytelling final project, so I got up late and wound up getting to class 35 minutes late. I partially blame my lateness on the fact that I had Anchorman on. So hard to shut that off! Fortunately, it was absolutely a none issue. After hours of going around the city with a baby elephant in a box, I went to my review for my sculpture class. Earlier in the day, a kid I didn't know told me that everyone got a B on their final projects. Well, that kid was wrong. I got an A. And I was happy to find out that I had gotten an A on every assignment we'd done. When I started this class, I was nervous. I sucked at sculpting. How did I get an A on everything?! I'm pretty happy with that. And now I love sculpting. I'm definitely going to keep it up despite being done with the class. I wish I could take more sculpting classes! Ugh! Back to drawing and computers now! Boooooooooo, I wanna play with clay!

Your lovin' can't pay my bills

Today was one of those days that wouldn't quit. I attempted to relax on my day off, but no dice. Before I could even get in the shower, shit started to hit the fan. Part of it was my own fault. I forgot to sign a form for my renter's application, so I had to rush back to Lindenwold just to sign it. That sucked. When you drive to Collingswood every other day of the week, the last thing you want to do is make a similar, but longer trip on your day off. Worse than that was I discovered that my student financial plan was completely fucked. All the way to Lindenwold I was thinking how much I wanted to quit school, stay at home, get a crappy job and earn some money for a while. I was in a panic, but I've chilled since then and I'm not going to quit. Be that as it may, my money situation is at an all time low. I need a bail out plan big time. My fingers crossed that this whole mess can be worked out. I'm trying hard not to stress about it, or even think about it. It just puts up all these walls in my mind and paralyzes me. I sometimes feel absolutely paralyzed by financial concerns. Alas, I have the support of my family and friends and that is the most important thing. I would definitely be a people watching hobo if it wasn't for them. Well, in reality, if it wasn't for my mother. I'm spoiled with good luck to have her.

Brusha, brusha, brusha

I love these.
Nothing quite like being able to brush my teeth while you drive.
True luxury.

Ratbirds galore

Had to run up and see my financial aid planner which lead to me being in Philly with nothing to do about two hours before class. So I got some grub and I ate it alfresco in the park. There was a lot of people sitting in the grass enjoying themselves, but for some reason, I was the one that the pigeons wanted to hang out with. They weren't really bothering me. They were just walking around my general area. This one pictured just stood there for the longest time. Just a few inches away from me. Kind of weird. But also pretty amusing. I guess I was the only one sitting by them self on the grass so the pigeons felt for me. I appreciate it. Even if I hate pigeons. haha

Later I went to my last algebra class and got a perfect on my final. That's an absolute first for me. Practically unbelievable.

bum bibi bum, bum bum buummm

I think it's pretty clear what I did today. And as a result, there's a huge rift in the family! Despite that, it wasn't too bad for an action film (I tend to get rather bored in action movies, ironically). I wasn't too optimistic from the previews, but it turned out to be pretty good. It was entertaining, the storyline wasn't too unbearable, the portrayal of the classic characters was decent, and Bradley Cooper was shirtless. Not bad.
The A-Team was a popular show around my house when I was young. And once upon a cellphone, I had the A-Team theme song as a ring tone. I'll never forget it because when I had the opportunity to meet Joel Madden, from - the biggest band in the universe- Good Charlotte, a few years ago, my mother called me right as he came over to me. And there in the quiet of an awesome handicapped, er party bus the A-Team theme began to play loud and proud. It was funny. But you'll have to take my word for it. Just one of those moments that you kind of had to be there for.

You're pulling your punches

What do you call it when you go to an apartment complex to begin the long, stupid process of renting an apartment? Sort of a tour, sort of for paperwork. How is that summed up? Well, that's what I did today with my mother. We visited the apartment complex I'm attempting to get an apartment at and started some paperwork. I didn't take any photos. So, here's two flies. Man, my blog is fantastic.

This typography class went from bad to ridiculous. I don't know how it's possible for it to be more aggravating when I didn't even have to go to class. Thank God it's nearly over.

Don't build me up just to knock me down

In my quest to find a Wawa within walking distance of my school, I discovered something else I've been dying for in the city; I found a sweet spot to sit! I had a lovely Wawa lunch/dinner while sitting on what could be described as a bench across from the Comcast Building. It's clear that the building is beautiful from afar, but I found it was even more beautiful when I was close up. It's so shiny that from the right angle it seems to become part of the sky. I'm the type of person that walks down the street looking up at all the buildings. No matter how many times I've walked down the road, I still love to look up at the interesting architecture of the city. There are not very many pretty buildings where I grew up so I never get tired of the old and new buildings that Philadelphia has to offer. If you haven't done it, do it! Look up!

Toozday Twosdays Tuesdays

It was nice outside so we tried to enjoy it before I had to leave for Philly. Apparently I was enjoying it more than Gizmo. Sorry I bore you, Gizmo! Actually, he was just singing. He likes to rock and roll all night and part of everyday. That's what he tells me.

Stop this at once!

A lot of things contributed to this day being awful. I'm not going to go into it because it'll just make me mad. But I do know one thing for certain, I will be so thrilled when I'm done this Basic Algebra class. And you'd think it was because of the subject, but it's really not.

That's so unethical

I wish I was able to focus and write a ten page paper in a day. Alas, I cannot. I can procrastinate and spend nearly an entire weekend devoted to trying to hunker down and do it, but I suck at writing papers. But I got through it. Somehow.

Rootinest Tootinest

Had our last class with a model in Sculpting for Animation tonight. For 10 weeks straight we've had a model and for about 6 of those said weeks we've had nude models. So, I went from never seeing anyone else naked besides myself to seeing different people nude so often that it became part of a regularly scheduled Thursday. Woo college! Anyway, tonight was our last night. For the last few weeks, I've been struggling to stay in the top five, but this sculpture was deemed the best in the class not only by the teacher but other students. And there's one girl who's work is so awesome every week and she said that she was jealous of mine the whole night. I took that as a big compliment. Despite the migraines I seem to get from the class, I think I will miss this class. I don't think I'll get the opportunity to do another sculpture class unfortunately, but I'm glad I took it. I would definitely say that my abilities have improved ten fold. I'm not ever going to share the horrible attempts I made at sculpting prior to the class. They're too awful. But I'm excited to try some of my own stuff at home!

Boo hoo, back to school... tomorrow.

After having an entire week away, it wasn't easy getting my ass out of bed at a decent hour to go, but I did. Just have to drag myself through a few more weeks and then I'll be off for 3 or so weeks. It will be glorious. And I won't want to go back after that break either. At this point I'm already so deep in debt from student loans that I can't stop now! I have to get a degree so I can get a job and start paying for my education! Yay! I'm so stoked!

I can't believe there are people in this world that have gone to college and left it without any debt. It doesn't seem possible. It probably doesn't help that I have such a terrible grasp of numbers. I don't know. I'm going to go cry now.

Somebody's poisoned the watering hole

Got started on my final project for my Sculpting for Animation class. Keep in mind I said I "started" it. This isn't even as far as I got in this sitting, but I thought the sloppy, unfinished version was kind of cute. It looks nothing like this now. It's good to see where you started, though. It'll make for a striking comparison shot later.

Speaking of later, I went and saw "Iron Man 2" later. And it didn't even suck. Nice going, Jon Favreau! You made a decent second film. That's not an easy task. Just ask Indiana Jones or Back to the Future. Need I say more?
